Eyelid Lift (Blepharoplasty)

The following information has been prepared to familiarize you with facts about the surgical procedures known as blepharoplasty. You are requested to read this information thoroughly and to discuss any questions which might arise with your surgeon before you proceed with the surgical procedure known as blepharoplasty. See before and after pictures of the eyelid lift.

The eyes are what people focus on in everyday conversation. If your eyes are tired, often you will be perceived as tired. An eyelid procedure leads to vibrant, rejuvenated outcome that is natural, allowing you to come across to others as youthful and vital.

Introduction

This operation is designed to remove excess skin and bagginess to give the eyes a more youthful appearance. It must be understood that most of the wrinkles around the eyes are etched into the skin and cannot be removed by this procedure. A laser resurfacing procedure may be desired if the patient would like to decrease wrinkles.

If a patient presents with very droopy brows, it may be impossible to obtain a significant improvement of upper eyelid appearance without first raising the brows. The blepharoplasty procedure (without a forehead lift) does not affect droopy eyebrows. Your surgeon may suggest a forehead lift with you if he feels that your most significant problem is brow drooping.
