About the Restylane® family of products
The Restylane family of products includes Restylane, Restylane-L, Perlane, Perlane-L, Refyne and Defyne. These products can be used to add volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds). Restylane may also be used for lip enhancement in patients over 21 years. Ask your doctor which is right for you.
How does Restylane® work?

Restylane can also add fullness and definition to lips in patients over 21 years, providing natural-looking and lasting results* with just one treatment
Restylane Silk® for lip enhancement
Restylane Silk® works immediately by adding volume to smooth away wrinkles. A clear gel formulation of hyaluronic acid, Restylane Silk® is specifically formulated to act like your body’s own hyaluronic acid. So, you can use Restylane Silk® to visibly reduce moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, and to add fullness to your lips.
How does Restylane Lyft – Formerly Known as “Perlane®” work?
Just like Restylane, Perlane adds volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds).
Like Restylane, Perlane is a clear gel formulation of hyaluronic acid that is specifically formulated to add volume like your body’s own hyaluronic acid.
What makes Perlane different is the average size of the particles and the depth of injection. On average, the gel particles in Perlane are larger than those in Restylane, which makes Perlane a good choice for wrinkles that benefit from a deeper injection into the skin.
In three clinical studies of 150 patients each, on average 70% of patients maintained improvement for six months after just one Perlane treatment.

Restylane Refyne and Restylane Defyne
Whether you are laughing, smiling, frowning or making any expression that causes the face to wrinkle, these HA (Hyaluronic acid) gels can flex within your skin for a look that is soft, natural and never stiff.
Restylane® Refyne was approved for the treatment of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds and Restylane® Defyne for the treatment of moderate to severe, deep facial wrinkles and folds. These scientifically-advanced gels are manufactured with XpresHAn Technology creating gels that offer a range of flexibility and support for varied patient needs. Restylane® Refyne and Restylane® Defyne have been shown to maintain effectiveness for the treatment of laugh lines for up to 12 months.
XpresHAn Technology
Restylane® Refyne and Restylane® Defyne were first approved in Europe in 2010 under the brand name Emervel® and have a proven safety profile demonstrated by more than one million treatments worldwide. Restylane® Refyne and Restylane® Defyne are dermal fillers injected under the (facial) skin. Once in place, they help smooth away your “laugh lines” – the wrinkles and folds that may form at the sides of your nose and run down toward the corners of your mouth.
These next-generation dermal fillers were designed using a unique manufacturing process called XpresHAn Technology, which creates a smooth, injectable gel that can give your skin natural-looking results. XpresHAn Technology customizes the degree of HA crosslinking in each product, resulting in gels with a range of flexibility and support characteristics for different patient needs.
